Protecting Deliverability for List Owners and Advertisers

June | 09 | 2010

Bill here, I thought I would take a minute and review how the Marketfish application protects the deliverability for both our List Owners and Advertisers.

The Marketfish application provides several safeguards to help keep deliverability numbers high.

For example; before a list is loaded into the Marketfish application we implement the following:

  • Validate email formatting
  • Remove foreign email addresses; don’t want any of those complications.
  • Filter out known SPAM traps; old domain names, cellular domain names.
  • Filter our coerced inputs abc123@xyz@and other colorful examples.
  • Filter out the common job functions such as; admin@order@postmaster@

In the constant progression of the Marketfish application we are now processing hard bounces and abuse complaints on a daily basis; we bundle them up and notify You (List Owners and Advertisers) every week.

Updates to lists are received, both additions and deletions, from List Owners on a regular basis. We process them weekly as well; all to keep the lists in the Marketfish application as clean and up-to-date as possible.

The list descriptions and selects on the platform provide Advertisers the capability to make sure their campaigns are well targeted; the better the description the list owners provide, the better the targeting, the better the performance, the fewer complaints; everyone one wins!

Question for the readers:

When do you remove a soft bounce?
